In the field of high temperature, heat-resistant fabric is the most widely used product, so how to make the material have excellent heat resistance? The most common method is strengthening the high-temperature coating on the primary material that is already resistant to high temperatures. Below, we will be able to explain to you the primary material and coating.

1. Base Fabric

The base fabric is an essential part of the entire heat-resistant material. Compared with the coating, the base fabric needs to bear the last line of defence under high temperatures. Therefore, as the base fabric, Heaterk needs it to have strict high-temperature resistance.

Heaterks offers high-temperature resistant fabrics, including:

E Glass fibreglass fabric

Glass fibre has high-temperature resistance, waterproof, fire prevention and corrosion resistance characteristics. As a class A non-combustible material, it will not burn even if it exceeds its maximum temperature resistance of 550°C.

High Silica Fabric

High silica is a fabric woven from silica and glass fibre with more than 96% content. High silica has a temperature resistance of up to 1700°C and can be used in most temperature-resistant environments.

To further improve the heat resistance of the fabric, Heaterk provides a variety of coatings for the above two textiles:

Silicone

Because of its high heat resistance and ability to resist temperatures up to 250 degrees Celsius, silicone is widely used to make heat-resistant fabrics. In extreme circumstances, the silicone-coated fibreglass fabric can even withstand temperatures as high as 300 degrees F. Silicone also has a low thermal conductivity, so it transfers very little heat. This is an advantage in situations where heat resistant fabrics are exposed. It can also be helpful in furnace applications as it increases furnace efficiency.

Vermiculite

When heated, vermiculite expands significantly. Because of its high burn resistance, this material is frequently used to coat fabrics. Vermiculite substantially improves the material's resistance to flame impingement and molten splash, corrosion, sparks, and sparks. This is why it is often used for welding protection. Because of the exfoliation caused by heating, materials coated with vermiculite are often used in furnaces.

You can use heat-resistant fabrics made with ceramics for kiln and gas burner nozzles and brake discs.

Neoprene

Neoprene belongs to a group of synthetic rubbers that can maintain flexibility over a wide temperature range. Neoprene is also flame resistant, making it ideal for applications with a high fire risk.

Neoprene is not the most resistant to temperature, and the maximum operating temperature is around 140. However, it can still be used for personal protection during light-duty welding applications.

Heaterk's Heat Resistant Fabric

Heaterk offers a range of heat resistant fabrics, including coated fabrics that can be used for heat-resistance applications. Our main range of heat-resistant materials is silicone-coated fabrics and PETFE-coated fabrics. We also offer a variety of coatings for our coated fabrics to make them more resistant to heat.
